What's in a name

People always asked me from where I got the ideas for my son's name,what it meant,I should get a better name..bla bla bla. To be honest the name Hermie Aldrin comes from the brand Hermes and Zouk resident DJ Aldrin. No I'm not an Hermes fan and I do not owned any Hermes items..its just that while walking along town we(me and wifey) saw the brand and just fine tuned it to Hermie. Pronounced as Her-mi some people pronounced it as Hairr-mi I doesnt bother me at all. For Aldrin is a no brainer,I'm a great fan of DJ Aldrin from way back in 98. I do not realy care much with the meaning of the name just simply because I dun see the need to be so caught up about all this "have a good name and he will grow up as a good person" mentality.
I have frens wif names like Mohd but is now serving 18yrs in jail for drug traficking,Sulaiman who did jail time for selling vcds,adam whose serving time for manslaughter and the list goes on...
To me how the kid grew up reflects on how u raise the kid as a parent. I might give my kid a name of Mohd Gaddafi Al-Bustam which maybe means the Great Warrior of The Ganges River but if I don't raise him up properly it doesnt mean a shit.
But again as of my other thought provoking entries,others will have different views on these,but thats ok. So whats the name of my future kids if I decided to have more...hmmmm Hernie Andiyanie,Hernie Andinie,Herlie Armin,Helzie Aiman,Herna Ardiyana,Herda Aziana,Hiddie Adriyan..Do they have meanings?? I doubt so but I just like the names...hehe

Compassionate

I'm on compassionate leave since last friday. My granny past away on friday morning so I just need to add 1707 to 1310 to the numbers that I need to memorise. Granny followed ma' sooner than I expected, not that I expect her to pass away. Anyway the funny thing was as I watched her on her deathbed,tears started to flow down my cheek not because i actually thought of her but actually due to the fact that flashbacks of ma' on her deathbed started to occur. I've never thought that I would go back to the hospital like 9mths after ma' had left me.
Anyway 2 of the best cooks in the family decided not to extend their stay on planet earth. I was never really close to granny nor was i distant from her. The fact that I hate my aunt makes me do not wanna see her often. But I do hav fond memories of her like how she used to give me $10 to share wif my sisters whenever I went to visit her place. The 3 of us would rotate who would get $4 and the rest will get $3. Well those were memories and life need to go on ain't it...
It just reminds us how fragile life is but having said that you need to make use of your time on planet earth...have a good week ahead

Ok so i just got my Blackberry Curve...part peer pressure and part i just need everything on the go. So fuck it for $98 a pop, its a no brainer. Anyway its a corporate plan, so kinda slightly cheaper then normal plans. The funny thing was, the people at work were like damn suaku about me getting a BB."Wah u want to become manager ah buy Blackberry??" WTF. When I said all my frens using BB, "Wah all your frens manager ah?" Duh!! That's how shallow the people at work are..anyway fuck all of them I'm stepping up my game. Lots of haters and lots of red and green eyes, but hey when you're on top, weakass poseurs will always wantto drag you down. Word of advise : Fuck Em' and just step your game up. Monsters came out at nite

I spent the the friday nite at my spiritual home in tampines. Sometimes I felt miserable to leave the family all alone at home but I guess I have the responsiblity to check out on my dad at least once a week in person. Like knowing how's he's doing and stuffs and at the same time I felt at ease knowing that my late mum used to be there. Sometimes i felt that as if she's around looking at me from some corners of the house, deep in my heart I just wished that its true, but again reality bites at you. She would have been 62 today. I lurve you ma'.
I attended another exhibition just now. I will not comments bout the turn out but the artwork was awesome. I really like Darbotz werks and upcoming projects are in the pipeline real soon with SO boys. Anyway have a good wkend.

1 month

Its exactly a month since I last blogged. I partly did it on purpose but partly because i'm too caught up with stuffs that I don't have a good personal time to blog. We had dinner at Straits Kitchen at Hyatt last nite to celebrate my sis' belated birthday and at the same time to remember our beloved mum. Food kinda so-so above average but its all local.

I dun need to go to fucking some hotel and see how some so-called chef grilling some satays. I've been grilling satays for Hari raya at my granny's since pri two dawg!! Post Mother's day week

Ok so I decided not to post the past week because it was mother's day weekend. As some of you knew I lost my beloved mum last Oct and i have not yet recovered ever since. Tho i'm still the same from the outside i'm totally different from the inside. The pain and incompleteness in me is evident since the feeling of without a mum sets in. Mum is just a hollow word to me right now. One day when i'm gone, I hope people who knew me will remember me and rejoice the fact that they knew me just like how I felt when my mum is gone. Rest In Peace mum. I'll see you again some day.

Ok from the last blog i said about my video roll. It's more bout Oasis and Chelsea Lately. I've been into Britpop since i got my 1st discman and Oasis was and stil is the biggest band to me. Arty Farty

/fIts tuesday and i'm on fucking afternoon shift. Seriously with the amount of production that we're having(or not having) rite now, I dun see that we need to do a 16hrs production. Anyway as normal there's plenty of educated idiots at my werkplace. For real. If they're reading this then too bad. I'm trying to be arty farty and trying to get some nice/funny/raw pics from my lumix. Like people always said the more you try the more you learn.

This is my kid sister(sis-in-law). I saw her grew up rite in front of my nose since she's 9. PSLE,'O' levels,Diploma. I'm just so glad she got herself a job in dis shit environment. I hope she will continue to do well. I love u always.!!
